The context window determines how much code the AI can "see" at once when generating or reviewing code.

Context Limits

Different models have different context windows:

  • •GPT-4o: 128K tokens (~100,000 words)
  • •Claude 3.5 Sonnet: 200K tokens (~150,000 words)
  • •Gemini 2.0: 1M tokens (~750,000 words)

    • Best Practices

    For large codebases, provide only the relevant files and functions. Use comments to indicate where the AI should focus its attention.
